Goodbye Lonnie Hirsch!

 Brimmer golden ale in a Chit glass on a Shit day! 献杯! Mr. Lonnie. RIP! You will be missed!

Beer gift!

 Someone brought me back a tin of lager from europe! It was actually quite good!

 

SMASH!

 I was just out for a wander and found myself at Snark Liquidworks! I was supping on a Helles when they put SMASH (single malt & single hop) on tap! 

 

Asahi Stout

 Asahi Stout is either now discontinued or will be soon! It's the last really good domestic stout by one of the big four major breweries. Kirin discontinued their bottled Stout some time ago after releasing Kirin Ichiban Shibori Stout, which is not that good!

 I used to get  Asahi Stout from Yamaya in Ikebukuro but haven't been over there recently to check if they still have any stock!

I ordered a ten bottle set of Asahi from Amazon yesterday and it's already on its way!

Nightcap!

 Had a couple of 500 yen pints and now it's time for today's nightcap!

500 yen pints in Dubliners Ikebukuro this evening! Do I have the energy to drag myself up there?

 

 

 

OS/2 Warp

 My all time favourite operating system is OS/2 Warp 4 from IBM. I ran it as my only OS until IBM killed it! Prior to that I used OS/2 Warp 3. Here is Warp 4.5 running in VirtualBox on a Linux host.

Yanaka Beer

This was the beer lineup at Yanaka Beer Hall when I went the other weekend! I'm drinking their bitter outside in a plastic cup. There was a long queue for inside seating!

 

Buddha

 So I was walking around the Nezu Shrine and Yanaka Ginza area and near the cemetery I came across this Buddha statue that I've never seen before! I didn't even know there was such a large cemetery in the area either!

Guinless!

 The  Japan only new recipe for Guinness from Kirin Beer is worse than the previous recipe. Perhaps it was too chilled when I tried it but there was hardly any flavour! They keep finding new ways to cut costs while increasing prices!

Snark is now Cycad

 My local brewpub has changed its name from Snark Liquidworks to Cycad Brewing! I'm not sure which name I prefer. The glasses have also changed and the price has gone up slightly too!
